Yes, arcade games are still being made on a regular basis – they just may not be made in the way we are used to seeing them. Think about it, if people are still going out and playing these games then companies must’ve figured out a way to develop games for these people to play when they get tired of the games they already have. Which is why we wrote this article. We’re going to go over a list of different arcade games that were released fairly recently (2018).
Most of the older arcade games are no longer being made, but traditional arcade games are still in production. Even though technology has developed quite a bit in recent years arcade games are still being made that incorporates this technology (eg. Mario Bros, Tekken 3, Punch score). While new games are still being offered, the number of arcade games being developed continues to dwindle due to the production of new gaming consoles such as the Playstation and XBox.
If you refer to another arcade game centric article we wrote you’ll see that arcade game popularity has continued to grow in the East (not because of where they originated but because of the ingenuity of those running and purchasing those businesses).
Companies who are still producing arcade games
Capcom
Capcom is well known for producing games such as
- Street Fighter
- Captain Commando
- Alien vs Predator
- Eco Fighters
- Striders
- Progear
Etc.
And are known for both the quality of the games and their well made logo. While they’re known for their arcade and video games they are no longer in the traditional arcade game business. However, you can still purchase arcade games from their website here.
Atari Games
Atari is one of the Goats of the arcade game industry and is well known for their game “800 lb Gorilla”. Atari was very popular back in the 80s because they were constantly producing high quality games that were entertaining to people back in the day. Eventually though the owners were no longer able to produce new games and left the company.

Sega
Sega is known for creating games such as
- Sakura Series
- The Sonic Series
- Battletoads
- Golden Axe
Etc.

Konami
Konami is the creator of games such as
Etc.
While the company isn’t closed their output of games has decreased greatly since the 80’s and 90’s.
Apple Industries
While apple industries doesn’t really make traditional arcade games, they do make those beloved photo booths that individuals love to get into with friends and family. For more information on the company or to purchase one, go here or here, respectively.
Arachnid 360
Arachnid 360 does still make arcade games. Of these are:
- G3 fire which is an electronic dart game
- G3 plus which is another electronic dart game that has a larger display and better camera than the original
- DiscGlo Shuffle
- Chuck a Luck darts
Yes, they still make arcade games and apparently, they’re doing pretty well at it.
Barron Games
Barron Games is still in the business of creating arcade games. A few of the games they are known for are:
- Galaxy Collision Quad Air Hockey Table: An air hockey game designed to allow 2 – 4 players to play with up to 4 pucks being in play at one time. The design for the game is patented and is made in such a way that goal gates are opened when each side is credited and closed when players either run out of time or their lives.

Bay Tek may have a lousy website but they have and do make high quality games. Of these includes:

The funny thing about Benchmark Games is that while they do produce arcade games they also make things that help fuel the arcade (Ticket Station Compact).

Big Buck Wild
A game that takes you to the land of Irish Elk as well as to the Zombies who took over Pappy’s land. Basically, you have to destroy all of the zombie humans and animals who appear in the game.
Alice Cooper’s Nightmare Castle
A horror themed Pinball game machine.
Cosmotrons
D-Day 2077
D Day 2077 is a Virtual Reality game that combines a sit-down arcade turret shooter with a motion simulator as well as virtual reality. It’s a single player game where the layer is basically put up against a ton of aliens and bosses.

An arcade game that allows players to play as characters (8 of them) from the Family Guy series and includes video from the series as well.

A physics-loaded lunar lander roguelike that feels like spinning across an icy road and nailing a perfect parallel park.

Is a dance step game that comes with the conventional directional arrows but also has a hint of focus on playability, exercise, and fun.
Target Bravo Operation Ghost
A game that puts players in the shoes of special forces agents. To play you must shoot and have quick reaction times (so as to avoid enemy fire).
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Tipsy Raccoons
Is considered the world’s first arcade game that requires players to have a drink before playing.
Tomb Raider

An arcade rail shooter based on the live action films and the follow-up to Transformers: Human Alliance
